A water-based polyurethane screed system is formulated to be easy to apply and is durable on even the heaviest of surfaces. Moreover, this extremely adaptable product can be applied to a multitude of uses in industries as diverse as manufacturing, pharmaceutical and heavy industrial chemical plants.
6mm Polyurethane Screed installed in Fareham
This versatility combined with durable reliability was the reason PSC Flooring Ltd recently installed a heavy duty 6mm polyurethane screed to all the trucking gangways for a car component manufacturer in Fareham.
The company needed a hard wearing floor that was seamless, easy to clean, could give anti-slip resistance when wet and would last for a decade or more, so we recommended the 6mm Polyurethane Screed.
Highest level of durability
Polyurethane screeds give the highest level of durability to date and FeRFA, the UK resin’s governing body, classifies these screeds as Type 8. This means they are the most hard wearing, robust screeds on the market. As they have fairly low levels of viscosity compared with epoxy screeds, they can be applied simply by hand trowel if necessary, which produces a heavy duty matt anti skid surface. This is proof against almost everything, including steel wheeled traffic and substantial impact and abrasion.
Customer delighted
For the car component manufacturer, the concrete floor was shot blasted clean and then one coat of epoxy primer was laid, followed by the heavy duty 6mm polyurethane screed. All the gangways were completed in blue with pedestrian walkways in safety yellow. The work was carried out in just two weeks, during their shutdown period. The project was completed on time and in budget and the customer was delighted with the results.
