Ultimate Battery – Engineering & Manufacturing Flooring
PSC Flooring were called in by Ultimate Battery Company Ltd in Thurcroft, Rotherham to look at refurbishing a 2400 square metres area they intended to use for additional manufacturing. Ultimate Battery Company technologies create batteries that are lighter, greener, and more powerful than traditional products.
Client Brief and Recommendation
At the site visit it was obvious that the existing floor was very dirty and had multiple layers of old floor paint that would require preparing with a diamond grinding machine and floor scabbling machine. The client was looking for a hardwearing floor that would be easy to clean and keep clean.
In preparation
In order to remove the layers of failed floor paint and dirt from the floor and thoroughly clean and prepare the existing concrete surfaces, the team used a totally enclosed diamond grinding floor surface machine for the main floor and handheld totally enclosed 110v diamond grinder for the edgework.
The whole floor was then given a thorough vacuum to remove all residues and dust before repairs were made to any localised damaged concrete, holes, and cracks, as required using epoxy mortar compound and epoxy resin filler.

Now fully prepared a walkway was masked out to separate the production area from a walkway. The production area was given two coats of Resdev Pumatect in the clients chosen light grey and the walkway completed in the clients chosen green. Once dry, the walkway (circa 232 linear metres) was then given a 75mm wide edging line in Resdev Pumatect V, high build epoxy resin, Safety Yellow
The job was completed in just 7 days – on time and within budget.
