Madni Food Products Ltd – Food Grade Flooring
Client Brief and Recommendations
The client was looking to expand their manufacturing space and specified needing a food safe floor that would be easy to clean and keep clean. At the site visit it was noted that there were layers of failed floor paint that would need to be removed before installing an Environmental Health friendly 6mm heavy duty RT polyurethane screed.
In preparation for the 6mm heavy duty RT polyurethane screed it was necessary to remove the failed floor paint, dirt and contaminants from the floor. In order to thoroughly clean and prepare the concrete floor surface the complete area was given a medium shotblast using the 20D shotblasting floor preparation system. The edgework was then cleaned and prepared using a handheld total enclosed 110v diamond grinding machine.
The floor was then vacuumed clean of all residues and any dust before 6mm x 6mm saw cuts were made to the perimeter of proposed area, door thresholds, around drains totalling 104 linear metres to toe in and anchor screed.
680 Square Meters – 6mm heavy duty RT polyurethane screed
The now fully prepared 680 Square Meters then received a nominal 6mm heavy duty Resedv Pumadur RT polyurethane, in the clients chosen textured, matt red.
Once dry a 6mm x 6mm channel was saw cut to existing expansion joints, knocked out and infilled with matching joining compound to mirror through expansion joints, where necessary.
The work was completed in just 8 working days, on time and within budget.
