Listers Group Limited – Vehicle Workshop Flooring
PSC were recently called in by Listers Group Limited to look at their VW van workshop in Droitwich. The 1311 square metre area had areas of old floor paint, oil, and grease contamination throughout that would need to be removed before any flooring system could be installed.
Client Brief and Recommendation
The client was looking for a very hard-wearing surface that would be chemically resistant against oil, grease, and fuel yet attractive. Being a busy workshop, the client was concerned over health and safety and specified the floor be anti-slip. With Vehicle Workshop use in mind the recommendation was for a Resdev Pumatect two-coat high build epoxy resin flooring system, incorporating a 0.3 to 0.6mm quartz anti slip aggregate for additional anti-slip.
Preparation of the floor surface
The 1311 square metre area was thoroughly prepared to remove old floor paint, oil, and grease contamination using PSC Flooring’s own grinding equipment. The Husqvarna PG830 remote 3 phase floor grinder with sealed grinding head was used to remove the surface laitance and open up the concrete to receive the resin. Extensive localised repairs were carried out to the floor and the area was vacuumed free of dust and debris.
1311 square metres Vehicle Workshop Flooring
The Resdev Pumatect two-coat high build epoxy resin flooring system was installed in the clients chosen dark grey, incorporating a 0.3 to 0.6mm quartz anti slip aggregate. The work was completed in just four days over the Easter shutdown period, so the floor was ready for VW to use on their return.
