Kennametal Manufacturing – Engineering and Manufacturing Flooring
In this particular case, PSC Flooring were called in to consult on 1700 square metres of floor at their plant in Newport Wales. The floor itself was well used and would require shotblasting and diamond grinding to ensure the recommended nominal 6mm heavy duty RT polyurethane screed floor screed would correctly adhere.
Initially the concrete floor in all areas was cleaned and abraded using the shotblasting and diamond grinding floor surface preparation systems. Once clean, repairs were made to damaged concrete as required using epoxy mortar compound and the total floor area received a coat of Resdev Pumaprime damp proof epoxy resin primer.
A nominal 6mm heavy duty Resdev Pumadur polyurethane screed, in the clients chosen dark grey was hand applied by trowel to the full 1700 square metres and when dry 110 linear metres of 6mm x 6mm channel was saw cut to the expansion joints and infilled with joining compound.
The job was completed over two phases timed to coincide with factory shut down periods.
