Glenside Interiors – Engineering & Manufacturing Flooring
PSC have just completed 1000 square metres of 3mm Anti-static flooring for repeat customer Glenside Interiors Ltd. The end client Custom Interconnect Limited, an Electronics Design and Manufacturing Company were looking for an anti-static flooring solution for their new micro chip manufacturing facility in Andover, Hampshire.
Client Brief and Recommendation
The 1000 square metre area in the new manufacturing facility needed to be anti-static due to the manufacture of microchips. It was recommended that following an ESD (Electro-Static Dissipative) epoxy resin primer, a nominal 3mm epoxy resin ESD self-smoothing screed should be applied to the entire 1000 square metres.
Preparation of floor surface
In preparation for the anti-static flooring system the new concrete floor was thoroughly cleaned and prepared using a totally enclosed triple headed diamond grinding floor machine and the edgework by a handheld 110v diamond grinder. All dust and residue were vacuumed clean before repairs were made to any localised damaged concrete, holes and cracks using resin filler and epoxy screed.

Once the preparation was complete the team from PSC laid one coat of Resdev Pumaprime epoxy resin priming system. Once this was dry a 12mm wide copper tape was laid around perimeter walls, around 500mm x 500 columns and then on a 2m x 2m grid across floor area leaving the copper tape 1m high up walls where appropriate.
One coat of Resdev Pumaprime ESD epoxy resin primer was then laid and left to dry before laying a nominal 3mm Resdev Pumaflow ESD self-levelling epoxy resin screed, gloss in the client chosen light grey to the 1000 square metre area.
Completed in just 9 days the job was completed on time and in budget – Well done, great job Team PSC!
