GKN are a global car component manufacturer based in Telford. GKN are a long-standing client, with PSC installing a number of floors since 1993. In this particular case PSC were called in to consult on flooring for a 500 sq metre production area that GKN wanted to repurpose a new area for development and manufacturing a prototype car part for electrical motor vehicles.
The brief for the 500 sq metres area was to have a cost-effective resin floor that would transform a dull and dirty area into a clean, vibrant area that they can show off to potential clients. They required a hard wearing, gloss resin floor that would be easy to clean.
As part of the preparation process PSC used the shotblasting machine and double headed diamond grinding machine to clean and prepare the floor and remove all contaminates before sweeping and vacuuming the area. Once clean, the next process was to lay an oil binding epoxy resin primer to neutralise all areas of oil contamination and carry out necessary repairs.
Once all repairs and preparation was completed two coats of Resdev Pumatect high build epoxy resin in the clients chosen mid grey. As quoted the job was completed in just 4 days and in budget.
We can always rely on PSC Flooring to do a great job! We could not be happier with the finished area, it is now lighter, brighter, and easier to keep clean. It will be a pleasure to show off the new prototype production area to potential clients.
