Durant Cricket Ltd – Commercial Flooring
PSC Flooring were called in to look at a floor at South Northumberland Cricket Club in Gosforth. Due to have their 320 square metre indoor cricket centre laid with a new sports floor by Durant Cricket Ltd who supply quality products direct to cricket clubs and schools; it was recognised that the floor in question needed infilling before the new sports floor could be laid.
Client brief & Recommendations
The client was looking to refurbish their indoor cricket centre which required a smooth, hard-wearing base floor. The existing floor was covered in adhesive and latex
It was recommended that the floor be diamond ground back and an epoxy resin primer followed by DCP Renovation base cementitious screed.
Preparation
In preparation for the nominal 12mm base screed, all existing adhesive that was all over the floor was removed using a diamond grinding machine. An epoxy resin primer was laid with full blind of quartz aggregate to ensure a strong mechanical bond
320 square metres nominal 12mm base screed
6.5 tonnes (250 bags) of DCP Renovation base cementitious screed were machine pumped onto the newly primed surface to give a new hard-wearing floor. The screed took just 3 hours to pump and was walk-on dry within 4 hours, ready for the new sports floor to be laid by Durant Cricket Ltd. Well done to Paul Butler and the team for getting this job done, it wasn’t easy.
