T Quality – Swansea – Warehouse Flooring
Client Brief and Recommendation
The client was looking for a hard-wearing, easy-to-clean floor that could cope with the riggers of a busy food distribution warehouse. It was noted at the site visit that the floor had failed floor paint remnants that would need to be removed before the recommended two-coat High Build Epoxy Resin Flooring system could be installed.
In Preparation
To properly prepare for the recommended 2-coat High Build Epoxy Resin Flooring System, the old concrete floor underwent comprehensive preparation using our captive Husqvarna diamond grinders. This meticulous process involved the removal of failed floor paint and any grime from the concrete to ensure optimal adhesion. Thorough edgework preparation was carried out using a completely enclosed handheld 110v diamond grinder, followed by a meticulous cleaning of the entire area to eliminate all residues and dust. Any localised damaged concrete, large cracks, and holes were effectively repaired using epoxy mortar compound and epoxy resin screed. The final step in the preparation process involved repairing damaged expansion joints by infilling them with DCP Donseal PU440 polyurethane jointing compound.
350 Square meters of Warehouse Flooring
Two coats of Resdev Pumatect High Build Epoxy Resin were meticulously applied across the entire 350-square-metre area in the client-selected colour, Chelsea Blue. Moreover, a 0.3 to 0.6mm quartz aggregate anti-slip was expertly incorporated in the ramp area leading to the freezer entrance. The project was efficiently executed on Friday and Saturday, ensuring a prompt return to operations by Monday morning. Further phases have been thoughtfully scheduled over several weekends to mitigate disruption at the bustling depot.
